Watch For New DEI Clauses That Impact Federal Bidding
Review your websites, handbooks, subcontracts’ language, and employee hiring programs before your next proposal effort. New federal policies will impact bids, be incorporated into existing contracts, and flow down to subcontractors. They are likely to impact risk, terminations, and profitability.
This is not just an HR issue… These policies will apply to contract clauses, RFP requirements, pre-award audits, and deliverables. Are you a subcontractor? Watch for notifications from your prime contractors.
Contracting Officers and Contract Specialists will issue requests for certification of policy compliance before new contracts are awarded. Oftentimes requests arrive at the last minute when you’re down to the wire and anxious to get the award. You may sign off on requirements you don’t meet because you are under pressure to book the work. Be alert!
