BC2Match has just added Product and Service Code (PSC) criteria to users’ profiles and to the search matching in our dashboards. PSC is a set of categories that precedes NAICS codes and SIC codes. It was developed specifically for Federal procurement, building off of Federal Supply Groups and the prefix on National Stock Numbers.
All Federal SAM opportunities and USASpending awards include PSC designations. For searches in BC2Match, NAICS is required but PSC is used to narrow down the breadth of NAICS code definitions. You will frequently find that a specific NAICS is related to multiple PSC codes, each of which is a more specific subset of the corresponding overall NAICS category.
Make sure your profile is set up with the PSC codes and keywords for the opportunities you are seeking. Then, bang! Contracts that match your criteria will be ranked by how often they match with your NAICS, PSCs and Keywords. Opportunities will be listed in your dashboards with their expiration dates, contract PIID, agency buying office, procurement method, awardee and other valuable information.
Interested in priming the contract next time? Use the award date to see the value of the contract, who won it, and what office awarded it. Then get to work and establish a contact in the buying office to convince them that your past performance, unique skill sets and reliability will meet their needs. Be watching for the RFP to hit the street. Have your team already put together so you can quickly tweak the proposal to cover any changes n the RFP.

Convince them that your past performance, unique skill sets and reliability will meet their needs and make the bid stronger.
